Journal Introduction

        Current Biotechnology is supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and co-sponsored by the Tea Research Institute and the Biotechnology Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). As an academic journal aiming to disseminate cutting-edge advances in biotechnology and lead the developmental trends of biotechnology, it was founded in July 2011. Issued bimonthly, the journal is distributed publicly both domestically and internationally.

        Current Biotechnology is included in the Source Journals for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations, Chinese Applied Core Journals (CACJ), and RCCSE Chinese Quasi-Core Academic Journals. It is also a source journal of the Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database, fully indexed by Chinese Academic Journals (CD Edition), fully accessible on the China Science Periodical Database, and incorporated into the China Core Journal Alternative Database and Chinese Citation Database. In addition, the journal is abstracted and indexed by Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), EBSCO Information Services, Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI), and serves as a source journal of Japan Science and Technology Agency Chinese Bibliographic Database (JSTChina).
Focusing on domestic research and embracing global academia, Current Biotechnology covers fundamental research fields including molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, genomics and synthetic biology. It tracks developmental dynamics and industrial application achievements in the field of biotechnology, and promotes academic exchanges and disciplinary development. The journal timely publishes research progress and findings of biotechnology applied in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, food industry, chemical industry, pharmaceutical science, ecology and biosafety. Its main columns include review progress, research papers, and technologies and methods. The journal primarily serves experts, scholars, scientific researchers, faculty and students from institutions of higher education, R&D personnel in related enterprises, and overseas researchers engaged in biotechnology and relevant fields.
